Diabetes Self-Test

Identify Diabetes Self-Test

Here is a self test that you can take to see whether you are at the risk of developing diabetes:
  1. Is your weight equal to or above that listed in the chart?
  2. Are you under 65 years of age and I get little or no exercise during a usual day?
  3. Are you age between 45 to 65 years of age?
  4. Are you 65 years or older?
  5. Are you a mother who has had a baby weighing more than 9 pounds at birth?
  6. Do you have any brother or sister who has diabetes?
  7. Does your parent or close relatives have diabetes?

If your answer is “yes” to 4 or more of the above question, then you are at a risk of developing diabetes.

*If you are African American, Hispanic, or American Indian, please pay more attention to the results of your quiz as diabetes is more common in these ethnic groups.

Everyone over the age of 45 years or older should consider being tested every 3 years.
